Counselling and Coaching

“My goal for all my clients is to help them understand and embrace their brain, manage its quirks, and handle both the good and hard days with grace.”

Hi, I’m Avalon Collier,

I'm a counselor and ADHD coach. Do you need a safe, judgment-free space to explore your feelings, gain insights and develop the tools you need to thrive? Maybe I can help!

If you struggle with:

  • • Navigating life with ADHD, anxiety, and/or depression
  • • Feeling overwhelmed
  • • Falling into self-doubt and negative self-talk

I can help you:

  • • Build coping strategies
  • • Develop self-acceptance
  • • Find practical tools to use in your day-to-day

It’s time to start moving through life with confidence and compassion. My goal for all my clients is to help them understand and embrace their brain, manage its quirks, and handle both the good and hard days with grace. I use a mix of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and psychoeducation. I hold a Diploma of Counseling and will soon complete my Advanced Diploma of Interpretive Practice, which combines both counseling and coaching practices into one holistic approach.

A little more about me

I’m a counselor, coach, artist, wife, friend, daughter, sister, and Christian. I’ve had my struggles with depression and anxiety and have experienced many panic attacks over the years. I embarked on my own journey of counseling to heal from past trauma, and learn to understand myself. This journey not only taught me to love myself and show grace, it also ignited a passion within me for helping and encouraging people going through their own dark times.

One particular passion of mine is supporting individuals with ADHD and other neurodiverse conditions. I was only diagnosed with ADHD once I was already an adult. So I walked a long, difficult, and emotional road throughout my childhood and early adult years, struggling to understand myself and how my brain worked. Now I am equipped with more knowledge and understanding, and have spent years developing strategies that work for me. It’s been challenging, but I’ve learned to embrace the positives of ADHD while still recognising and holding space for the struggles and challenges it brings as well. One of the biggest changes for me was shifting my self-talk from "Why can’t I do this?" to "How can I do this?" This simple shift helped me accept my reality, have grace for my struggles, and learn to thrive with my brain.

My personal experience with ADHD and navigating childhood trauma fueled my desire to become a counselor and coach, and helped get me where I am today. In my career, I’ve worked as a childcare worker and youth leader, often connecting with neurodiverse children. I saw they were facing many of the same struggles I had—feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, anxious and confused. Maybe that’s how you feel right now! Trust me, I’ve been there. Being a counselor and ADHD coach is my way to give back, help make the road a little easier, and offer up some caring company along the way.
